Ministry, Georgia
Our vision is to be a total church for all people to grow in the grace and knowledge of God and His Word and then reach out to tell others the Good News of the Gospel, in our city, county, state and around the world.
After years of thinking and praying about my long felt desire to return to my first duty station - Robins AFB, GA, God provided a transfer through Patsy's civil service job from Offutt AFB, Nebraska to Robins AFB, Georgia. God worked through several miracles to bring this about and pave the way for our return to Robins.
I accepted the call to a local independent Baptist church in old town Warner Robins, and pastored there seven years, adding AWANA Clubs for the children, well-received outreach opportunities, Vacation Bible School and updated the facilities. God made it clear to us that we had done all we could there and we felt God wanted us to minister closer to I-75. This is a newly developing area and since our church didn't feel led to move their physical location, I resigned there on July 4th, 2004.
We founded "Freedom" in our living room in August 2004. We had been having to make short trips to Chattanooga, Tennessee for several years and by 2004 the trips were more frequent and of longer duration to take Patsy's parents to their doctor appointments, etc. Shortly afterward, we pulled back, in order to devote much of our time to care for Patsy's parents, who moved in with us from September 2005 until January 2007, when both her mother and father had passed away. During this time also, I spent much time in Tennessee after the death of my sister and caring for my mother until her death seven months later. Now, after completing that time of loss in our lives, we have the freedom to concentrate fully on building "Freedom" for the Lord in the Middle Georgia, Houston County, Warner Robins area - until He comes!
We have launched out, in faith, to a great area, located off of I-75 between exits 142 and 144, State Highway 96 and on a major 5-lane road (South Houston Lake Road) in Warner Robins. This area is bustling with young families new to the area, purchasing homes in new subdivisions near new schools and shopping centers, etc. These families want to take advantage of the best schools in the county. We want to help them turn their hearts and minds to the spiritual education of their children and themselves.
We are praying for God to supply at least 10 acres of land for our permanent church home in this great area. We want to minister in every way possible as God gives us the people and means to grow. We want to get The Word out to the community. We want people to know there is a church that cares for their heart, body and especially their soul. We want to be the church that provides the opportunity for wholesome, Christian activities, in lieu of people attending secular activities that do not honor and glorify God.
We are praying for a complete facility to minister daily through the ministries we expect to add in the future. We want a church with facilities to minister to all age groups for worship, Sunday School, Beginner and Junior churches, AWANA, opportunities for homeschool families to meet together, Reformer's Unanimous, Mission Closet, Food Pantry, take in gently used toys for Christmas for our members to select for their children, literacy classes for adults, ministry meetings for our youth, ladies, men, and seniors, a family life center for AWANA, indoor games and events, crafts, fields for volleyball, baseball, soccer, a park and a picnic area, maybe even a small pond, etc. Help us realize these goals to minister in middle Georgia!
Please Pray for Our Troops and Missionaries Around the World.
